Moving to New Zealand

Eight years ago, John and Ronel Leyland decided to move to New Zealand for the sake of their children's future.

John, originally from England, and Ronel, a South African, had been living in South Africa for a number of years but economic and security issues led them to decide to emigrate.

With the republic in turmoil and the safety of the children of paramount concern, their focus turned outwards, to countries that could offer a combination of lifestyle, standard of living and security they needed.

At the time, the Leylands considered several destinations, but New Zealand stood out as the best choice for their situation. With precious few resources available at the time to research the essential information about NZ, the Leylands based their decision to move on whatever they could find in books, by talking to expat kiwis - even watching outdated NZ Tourism videos!

"We saw an opportunity as well", says John, "to help other people in similar situations to ours make the move to New Zealand - as painlessly as possible. We now want to pass on our experience, not only in the financial arena, but also in areas like insurance, security, schools, the cost of living and all those little tips we wish we'd had in hindsight."
